RIDING 600km IN 6 DAYS – TRAIL2CHALLENGE

2 TEAMS, 1 CHALLENGE: CROSS THE PYRENEES FROM COAST TO COAST

The teams will have to face this challenge in the opposite direction, one team will leave Saint Jean de Luz walking and the other from Cap de Creus by bicycle. Both teams will be equipped with the latest TwoNav GPS: Trail 2, the new GPS for hiking/mountaineering and with a cycling version, Trail2 Bike.

900km and 25.700 metres of positive slope separate both teams

FROM CADAQUÉS TO IZABA

The bike team started on Tuesday from Cadaqués. They started with some trails around the “Costa Brava”, eastern part of Catalonia, with amazing views to the Mediterranean sea. They have rode around 100km a day, during 6 stages.

THE BIKE AMBASSADORS

For this challenge, the bike team had 3 ambassadors. Pol Tarrés, Sylvain Chavanel and Melcior Mauri. Although Pol does not came from a long distance cycling background he told us he learned a lot pedaling side by side with these two legends of the cycling world. Melcior won “la Vuelta” in 1991 and Sylvain is the one with the most Tour de France participations of all time.

LA GARROTXA & THE CATALAN PYRENEES

A stages of contrasts. They set out on a spectacular, and rather cold, day. These conditions followed the cyclists during the tough climb to the La Molina ski resort. From there, with half a stage behind them and pedalling at over 1.500m, they started the descent to the “La Cerdanya” Valley.

THE COLORS OF HUESCA

The first day of rain for the riders, a sign of what’s to come this weekend. The rain accompanied the team for the first few kilometres before the skies cleared, paving the way for a day of pure mountain biking. Spectacular trails and full autumn colours stole the show on this part of the challenge

ENTERING NAVARRA

After six hard stages of hiking and biking, the two teams finally meet in Isaba (Navarra, Spain). This little town was the meeting point of both teams. The thrill of meeting the other team and the satisfaction of having accomplished what they set out to do is obvious in the riders’ and hikers’ faces and an end of this Trail2Challenge. A one week adventure that comes to an end with lots of stories and good friends.
“It has been a very tough week, not only physically but mentally I managed to finish this challenge. I have to say thanks to Alex Rebés for the trust he put on me for this challenge. I can say we had almost everything; cold, warm, sun, mud, laughs, hard moments, some mechanical problems, some “fatigué”, really nice food and awesome content!! ” — POL TARRÉS

COMMITTED TO THE ENVIRONMENT

An experience in full nature is always enriching on a personal level, in addition if it contributes to the improvement of the environment. In this case, TwoNav will donate €1 for each kilometre by the members of both teams to the Save a Forest platform.
